Super Bowl 51 – Patriots and Falcons

Pre game ceremonies.

Patriots onto the field wearing blue pants and white shirts. Falcons wearing white pants and red jerseys.

Atlanta won the toss and deferred to the second half.

1st play of the game is a 37 yard run for Atlanta.

4 and 17 – Ryan sacked.

Brady sacked for a loss of 9

5:36 – Brady sacked again.

**2nd Quarter**

Patriots fumbled with the Falcons recovering.

On 2 and 1 – 12:15 and Atlanta with the 1st score of the game/extra point for a 7 to 0 lead. 71 yard drive.

Atlanta eating up the field in huge chunks.

3rd and 9 8:48 and there is another Falcons Touchdown but a flag. Defense pass interference, T D is good. /extra point its a 14 to 0 Falcons lead.

Atlanta with the pick 6 at 2:21 left in the 1st half/extra point makes it a 21 to 0 ball game. (82 yards)

41 yard field goal attempt is good with 0:02 second left in the game for a 21 to 3 Falcons lead.

**3rd Quarter**

Falcons punt after a 3 and out to open the 3rd quarter

8:31 – Touchdown Atlanta/extra point makes it a 28 to 3 game.

New England covert 4th and 3 to keep the series alive

2:06 Patriots with a touchdown but the extra point was no good. taking the score to 28 to 9

With that field goal its a 28 to 12 Falcons lead.

**4th Quarter**

Patriots recover the ball.

5:56 – New England with the touchdown after the recovery./going for 2 – with a direct snap Patriots are in to cut the lead to 8 – 28 to 20.

2 monster throws by Atlanta gets the Falcons down the field in great position with plenty of time on the clock.

2 penalties and a quarterback sack cost the Falcons the chance of point on the board – 3:30 left in the game.

With less than a minute left and New England get a much-needed touchdown/ extra point is (flag on the defense) and its a tie game at 28 all.

**First time in Super Bowl history we are going to overtime

I have no clue how but the New England Patriots have won Super Bowl 51 in overtime by a score of 34 to 28 over the Atlanta Falcons
